Things I bought while shopping hungry:
one (1) brick of cheese
three (3) cans of mandarin oranges
one (1) bag of nachos
one (1) tub of dark chocolate frosting
two (2) Amy's Breakfast Burritos
one (1) gallon Turkey Hill Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream
one (1) jar of crushed garlic
one (1) can of cream of broccoli soup
No, I have no immediate (or long-term, really) plans for the crushed garlic, oranges or cheese at the moment. And no real, proper plan for the dark chocolate frosting, except the knowledge that I will probably eat it straight from the jar with a spoon once it gets cold. (It tastes better that way.)
Just as I believe there should be a breathalizer test that should lock up ones emailing and instant messaging programs when one sits down to a computer a little too tipsy, maybe grocery stores should not let you in to do serious shopping when you are hungry past a certain point. They should just hand you a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich or a protein shake or something and tell you to come back when you've calmed your stomach a little.
Mmm... peanut butter.
